Camp Readiness & Behavior

Is My Child Ready for Camp?

We understand that as a parent, it's natural to wonder if your child is ready for camp. Our goal is to ensure that every child has a positive and enjoyable experience.

Factors to Consider

  • Emotional Readiness: Is your child comfortable separating from you for an extended period?

  • Social Skills: Does your child interact well with others, share, and take turns?

  • Self-Care: Can your child manage basic self-care tasks, such as hygiene and dressing?

Common Behaviors at Camp

  • Separation Anxiety: It's normal for children to feel anxious when separating from parents or guardians.

  • Homesickness: Many children experience homesickness at some point during camp. Our staff is trained to provide support and comfort.

Preparing Your Child for Camp

  • Communicate: Talk to your child about what to expect at camp and encourage them to express their feelings.

  • Practice Independence: Encourage your child to take on more responsibilities and practice independence.

  • Establish a Routine: Establish a pre-camp routine to help your child adjust to the camp schedule.

What to Expect at Camp

  • Supportive Staff: Our staff is trained to provide support and guidance to campers.

  • Safe Environment: We maintain a safe and supportive environment for all campers.

  • Fun Activities: Our camps offer a variety of fun and engaging activities to promote socialization and skill-building.

By being aware of these factors and taking steps to prepare your child, you can help ensure a positive and enjoyable camp experience.
