Pond to Pines Summer Day Camp

Nestled in a ponderosa grove right outside Ellensburg, Camp Pond to Pines provides amazing nature-based experiences and true outdoor immersive exploration! Located at the Yakima Canyon Interpretive Center, camp has a wonderful rustic feel that encourages exploration.

Campers learn through inquisitive and creative activities utilizing science, math, critical-thinking skills, and a great deal of imagination.

​

Enjoy Helen McCabe pond as you paddle and swim overlooking the majestic Stuart range. Enjoy arts and crafts, group games, singing songs, hiking, and splash pads to beat the summer heat.

CAMPER INFO:

Ages 5-11

Campers must be entering kindergarten in the fall OR age 5 by September 1, 2024

Camp runs Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm

ANIMAL OLYMPICS: June 23 - June 27, 2025

​​

Our local animal residents are amazing! Join us for a week of camp fun while we learn about those that fly, swim, dig, and run!

​

APPLE FESTIVAL: June 30 - July 3, 2025 (camp is Mon-Thurs, Friday off for Holiday and cost for this camp is $295 plus $25 registration fee)

​​

Apples are a Washington icon! Participate in tons of apple themed games and activities while enjoying the best of camp during this short but fun-packed week!

​​

CAMP SURVIVOR: July 7 - July 11, 2025

​

Build your skills as a wilderness survivor! Enjoy traditional camp activities and learn how to stay safe and be prepared for all your outdoor adventures!

​

PIRATE HUNT: July 14 - July 18, 2025

​

All aboard the flagship McCabe! "Sail" through camp searching for clues to find the treasures of our natural world!

​

BE A SUPERHERO: July 21 - July 25, 2025

​

Discover the hidden powers of our native plants and animals! Pick your favorite super-human abilities to create the perfect hero to protect against the forces of evil!

WATER CARNIVAL: July 28 - August 1, 2025

​

Splash around camp in and out of the pond! Beat the heat with fun games and experiments all about H2O!

Leadership programs are available for campers entering grades 6-12. These camp programs deepen older campers' understand of what leadership development means and gets them excited about mentoring others.

KEEN's mission is to cultivate an active understanding of the impacts of climate change on the endangered shrub-steppe and foster commitment to environmental stewardship by providing culturally relevant nature-based education. Our main project is to establish the Yakima Canyon Interpretive Center (YCIC) at Helen McCabe Park near Ellensburg, WA.
